In 2022, energy prices across Europe will rise dramatically. Businesses and residential consumers in many countries are facing an energy crisis reminiscent of the 1970s. For electricity, the one-year forward price on 1 May 2021 was €60.4 per megawatt-hour, compared with 515.4 per cent higher on 6 July 2022. The situation has improved somewhat since then, with everyone looking for a cheaper, more predictable way to buy energy. Thanks to the rapid technological development of solar panels, solar power plants are the way out of this predicament.

But what should businesses that do not have sufficient resources to invest in a solar system do?

We offer two solutions:

Leases, typically with a term of 4 to 6 years,
For larger - at least 1.5 MW systems - PPA construction.
Electricity

Briefly about the PPA scheme

A PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) is typically a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) of 15-20 years, where the energy is typically from renewable sources.

This agreement is between the company producing the green energy and the company buying the energy, so that the latter can access the electricity without tying up capital. The PPAs aim to fix the price of energy for a longer period than traditional commercial contracts, thus making the cost of energy more predictable. An additional benefit is that it contributes to sustainability objectives. The two main types of PPA schemes are on-site and off-site.

An on-site contract is when a solar power plant is built on the site of the consumer of the energy to be generated, but the company is not the investor, the project is financed externally and the consumer agrees to buy the electricity generated there at a pre-agreed price.

EBH Solar is ready to install solar power plants for large companies.

The benefits of the PPA scheme

  • If you opt for this scheme, you can essentially become a production licensee and reduce the amount of energy you buy from the grid with the green energy produced by your solar power.
  • The energy saved saves not only on electricity tariffs, but also on other costs such as system charges.
  • We are financing the project, so we are both the owner and the operator of the solar system for the duration of the project.
  • There are no hidden additional costs and no operating fees.
  • You pay a service fee based only on the amount of solar energy produced, which is guaranteed to be less than the energy you buy from the grid.
  • Savings from the first month of operation of the plant.

The implementation process

After contacting us, we will assess your needs and main options, and then request a personal consultation.

After the primary data processing, based on the consumption profile, we will assess the production and siting options of the solar PV system, prepare a simulation and inform you about the options.

This is followed by a design survey and feasibility study.

During a personal meeting, our colleague will present the operation of the planned solar power plant, the production curves, both from a technical and economic point of view, and the optimal designs.

Once selected, we will start the permitting process, start the detailed design and, after approval by the power utility, start the construction of the solar power plant. The construction is followed by a short trial run and then commissioning in the presence of the electricity company’s staff – and you can start enjoying the benefits of green energy!
